Move your bike store to Shopify with every old URL redirected

We rebuild your catalogue on Shopify with sizes, builds and geometry in proper fields. Customer accounts, order history and dealer prices move over too.

What breaks when a bike store changes platform

We check these six points first on any bike store we move. Each one costs sales or rankings if it is missed on launch day.

  • 01

    Old URLs that lead nowhere

Product and category pages change address on Shopify. Without a 301 redirect, Google finds a 404 and drops the page, and links from forums and reviews hit a dead end.
  • 02

    One frame, four products

A frame sold in four sizes should be one product with four variants. Exports often split it into four products, and the size guide stops matching.
  • 03

Geometry stuck in a text block

Stack, reach and tyre clearance end up in the product description. Customers can’t compare two sizes, and you can’t filter by them.
  • 04

    Customer passwords

Accounts and order history can move to Shopify. Passwords can’t, because no platform exports them, so customers sign in again with their email address.
  • 05

    Preorders still open

A customer has paid for a frameset that ships in three weeks. That order has to reach Shopify with its ship date, or your workshop loses track of it.
  • 06

    Dealers on a plugin

Dealers often log in through a plugin to see trade prices. If their accounts stay behind, their next order comes in by phone.

How the move happens

Your current store stays live and keeps taking orders while we work. Customers only see the change on launch day.

  1. First

    Inventory and URL map

We export every product, customer and URL from your current store and from Search Console, then pair each old URL with its future page on Shopify.

  2. Then

    Build in a development store

We build the new store in a Shopify development store, import your data and test each redirect. At launch, we transfer ownership of the store to you.

  3. After launch

    Search Console follow-up

We watch Search Console for 404s and pages that drop, and fix them as they show up. After that, the store can move to a monthly plan.

Your redirect map, tested before launch day

We list every address your current store has, from a full crawl and from Search Console, and pair each one with its page on Shopify. You approve the map line by line.

Then we test each redirect on the new store and fix any line that lands on a 404. We run the same test again once you are live.

What moves to Shopify, and what doesn’t

You get both lists for your own store before the migration starts.

We move

  • Products, variants and collections, with sizes and builds as real options
  • Bike data in metafields: geometry, stack and reach, compatibility
  • Customer accounts and their order history
  • Product reviews and blog posts
  • Email lists and flows in Klaviyo, reconnected to your Shopify data
  • Every old URL, with its 301 redirect

Doesn’t move as it is

  • Your theme. Shopify needs its own, and we build it as part of the migration.
  • Plugins and custom features. We rebuild the ones you still use, with a Shopify app or in the theme.
  • Your analytics history. It stays in Google Analytics and Search Console, and we connect both to the new store.

If something on your store is on neither list, we raise it at the audit, before you pay for the migration.

The platforms we move bike stores from

Each platform names sizes, builds and customer types in its own way. This is how they translate to Shopify.

  • 01

    WooCommerce

Variable products become Shopify variants. We list every WordPress plugin you rely on, from size filters to dealer prices, and decide what replaces each one.
  • 02Magento 1 and 2

    Magento

Configurable products become variants and custom attributes become metafields. Magento 1 has had no official security updates since June 2020.
  • 03Common in Germany

    Shopware

Variants and properties map to Shopify variants and metafields, and we rebuild your customer groups, such as dealers, on Shopify.
  • 04

    PrestaShop

Combinations become Shopify variants and product features become metafields, so your size guide and filters keep their data.
  • 05Common in bike shops

    Lightspeed

It often runs the till and the stock as well as the web shop. We start with how stock from your shop floor reaches the website.

Questions brands ask before a migration

  • There is a risk with any migration, and nobody can promise you zero loss. We reduce it: every old URL gets a 301 redirect to its new page, titles and descriptions move with the products, and we watch Search Console after launch to fix what drops.

  • Yes. Accounts and their order history move to Shopify. Each customer sets a new password the first time they sign in on the new store.

  • Dealer accounts and their prices move with the rest. How they work on Shopify depends on your Shopify plan and on how your dealers order today, so we settle it at the audit.

  • Yes, after a look at your setup. Lightspeed often runs the till and the stock as well as the web shop, so we first look at how your shop floor stock reaches the website, then decide what moves to Shopify.

  • Yes. Each part becomes its own Shopify product, and each bike gets its bill of materials, so selling a bike takes its parts off stock. AI agents create the products and the bills from your current data, and you check them before launch.

  • You do, from launch day. Your Shopify, Klaviyo and Google accounts stay in your name, and so does your redirect map.
